BMNS - Building Trust Beyond Borders

Energy Audits and Green Building Services

BMNS is an empaneled Energy Service Company (ESCO) with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), offering energy audit services to enhance energy efficiency and minimize its utilization, thus, promoting sustainable energy development.

A comprehensive energy assessment, can identify the energy consumption patterns equipment efficiency and energy conservation opportunities. The involvement of core sectoral experts and sophisticated measuring instrumentation confirms the precise solution for energy conservation.

BMNS has conducted energy conservation assessments in all types of industries be it Power generation, manufacturing processes or commercial buildings This has enabled our clients to reduce energy cost by reducing the energy consumption and increase bottom line margins in highly competitive market.

After implementation of our recommended energy-saving measures, our post-audit services encompass vendor development, greening supply chain interventions, implementation support, and more.

BMNS also undertakes end to end (SCOPE 1,2 and 3) assessment of GHG (Greenhouse Gases) emissions. The assessments are based on ISO14064-1/14067/SBTi/GHG Protocol for assessing building’s/facilities or manufacturing processes carbon footprint.

The major services include

Energy Audits

Preliminary Energy Audit: A high-level assessment to identify major areas of energy use and potential savings opportunities.

Detailed Energy Audit: A comprehensive analysis involving data collection, measurement, and detailed evaluation of energy use to identify specific energy-saving measures. Team of experts conducts technical and economic feasibility studies for potential energy-saving projects to ensure they are viable and cost-effective. The report prepared by an accredited energy auditor includes the recommendation on short-term, medium-term and long-term measures based on cost benefit analysis.

Energy Efficiency Projects

Post energy audits, Team of certified energy auditors and experts at BMNS offers development of project design and support in implementation of projects that enhance energy efficiency, such as
upgrading lighting systems, HVAC systems, and other industrial processes and assessing the potential for
integrating renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, or biomass into the client’s energy portfolio to reduce the carbon footprint.

BMNS establishes the baseline energy use and verify the savings achieved through implemented energy efficiency measures using standardized M&V protocols and also offers performance contracting wherein the ESCO guarantees a certain level of energy savings and shares the risk with the client.

Feasibility Studies

Conducting technical and economic feasibility studies for potential energy-saving projects to ensure they are viable and cost-effective.

Measurement and Verification (M&V)

Establishing baseline energy use and verifying the savings achieved through implemented energy efficiency measures using standardized M&V protocols.

Energy Management

Providing ongoing energy management services to maintain and optimize energy performance over time. Training client personnel on energy management practices and the use of energy management systems.

Renewable Energy Integration

Assessing the potential for integrating renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, or biomass into the client’s energy portfolio. Designing and implementing renewable energy projects.

Regulatory Compliance Services under PAT

BMNS has inhouse accredited energy auditor and industry experts; has applied for the registration with BEE to offer PAT verification services to designated consumers in line with Energy Conservation Act 2001.

Green Building Services

Green building services encompass a range of activities aimed at creating environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and sustainable buildings. These services can be provided during the design, construction, and operational phases of a building’s life cycle. By incorporating these solutions in a green
building, BMNS aims to reduce environmental impact, lower operational costs, improve occupant health, and increase the overall sustainability and resilience of buildings.

Here’s the key components of a green building which our team of experts takes care of from the planning stage of site selection, design stage, construction, commissioning and till the operation and maintenance.

Sustainable Design and Planning

Site Analysis and Selection: Evaluating site location and orientation to maximize natural resources and minimize environmental impact.

Energy Modeling: Simulating energy consumption to optimize design for energy efficiency.

Daylighting Analysis: Designing for optimal natural light to reduce reliance on artificial lighting.

Innovation in Design

Smart Building Technologies: Integrating smart systems for energy management, lighting control, and occupancy sensing.

Biophilic Design: Incorporating natural elements to enhance occupant well-being and productivity.

Water Conservation

Low-Flow Fixtures: Installing water-efficient fixtures and appliances.

Rainwater Harvesting: Collecting and reusing rainwater for irrigation and other non-potable uses.

Greywater Systems: Reusing wastewater from sinks and showers for landscaping or toilet flushing.

Materials and Resources

Sustainable Material Selection: Choosing materials with low environmental impact (recycled, reclaimed or rapidly renewable resources)

Waste Management: Implementing recycling and waste reduction programs during construction and operation.

Indoor Air Quality: Using low-VOC (volatile organic compound) materials to ensure healthy indoor environments.

Building Commissioning and Retro-Commissioning

Commissioning: Verifying that all building systems are designed, installed, tested, and capable of being operated and maintained according to the owner’s operational needs.

Retro-Commissioning: Assessing and improving the performance of existing building systems to enhance
efficiency and functionality.

Operations and Maintenance

Sustainable Operations Plans: Developing plans for ongoing sustainable building management.

Energy Audits: Conducting audits to identify and implement energy-saving measures.

Performance Monitoring: Using advanced monitoring systems to track energy and water use, indoor air
quality, and other key metrics.

Education and Training

Staff Training: Educating building operators and occupants on sustainable practices.

Tenant Engagement: Promoting sustainable behavior among building users.

Certification and Compliance

The green building can be certified under LEED, IGBC, GRIHA or any other international program. Our team of experts assist the clients to achieve desired certification by ensuring compliance with local and national green building codes, regulation and standards. We also assist in achieving Energy Star certification for energy efficiency.
